Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum

Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located on the Hudson River in Manhattan, features the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, some of the world's fastest jets, and a guided missile submarine. The ship is now a National Historic Landmark, having served tours of duty in World War II and the Vietnam War, and acted as a recovery vessel for the Gemini and Mercury space missions. In addition to more than two dozen authentically restored aircraft, the museum includes the Exploreum Interactive Hall, an interactive exhibit space; an 18,000 sq. ft. education center; “Growler,” the only American diesel-powered strategic missile submarine open to the public; and Pier 86.
